Evidence-Based Therapy Grounded
in Lived Experience

I’m Tia Piacquadio, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation (LPCC-S) and the founder of BrainSpace Anxiety & OCD Therapy.

After earning my master’s degree in counseling from Cleveland State University in 2007, I obtained my counseling license that same year. I’ve since gained extensive experience in treating a variety of behavioral health concerns, with a specific focus on working with clients who struggle with anxiety, OCD and related conditions.

My approach is shaped not only by my training, but also by my own lived experience. Before becoming a therapist, I struggled with undiagnosed OCD for years. Completing exposure and response prevention gave me a level of relief and clarity I didn’t think was possible—and it taught me just how brave the work of recovery really is. That experience guides how I show up for clients: with understanding, practical tools and a belief that change is absolutely possible.

I built BrainSpace around a simple truth: when we reduce the mental clutter produced by anxiety and intrusive thoughts, we gain more space for the things that truly matter—joy, purpose, connection and a life led by values rather than fear.
